🚨 New Assistive Device for Folks with Disabilities 🚨

A fellow baddie, collaborator, advocate, and sex enthusiast, Andrew Gurza, is the brains (and body inspiration) behind an assistive device Occupational Therapy Professionals MUST know about.  It’s my pleasure to share about this sex toy adaptor that is on pre-sale right now (more on that later).

The Bump’n Joystick adapter is the first sex toy designed for and by people within the disabled community. Research shows that impaired hand function is the biggest barrier to using sex toys currently on the market – over 50% of physically disabled people surveyed said they struggle to achieve an orgasm solo. The Bump’n joystick removes this barrier and makes self-love possible regardless of hand function, by utilizing a person’s gross motor movements.

So what is it? The Bump’n joystick is about 3 ft. long and made up of a cuddly pillow top and a gender-neutral peg attachment to hold the sex toy in place.

  • The body pillow is soft and comfortable and utilizes the hug position to remove the reliance of fine motor hand function on your ability to do the deed sans partner (or for partner play, if you prefer).

  • It can be adjusted for positioning, so no matter your preference or kink, you can make the Bump’n work for you.

  • The peg and pillow are detachable for creative use and easy cleaning.

The Bump’n joystick has been tested by clients with an array of disabilities, including MS and cerebral palsy. Testers have raved about it, saying it has allowed them a level of intimacy they have not known in years and calling it a game-changer.  I 'bout fell out of my chair after watching this video!

One of the coolest things about this product is the team who developed it.  The Bump’n Team includes people with disabilities, sexual health and design experts, and occupational therapists.  Their mission is to create an inclusive line of sex toys for people with hand limitations, with the vision of expanding their products to ensure that disability of any kind won’t prevent people from getting down.

From unboxing to use to cleanup and storage, the Bump’n joystick removes hand function and fine motor control from the self-pleasure equation. The Bump’n team is committed to sex positivity and eliminating the taboo and feelings of awkwardness from discussions about sex and disability.

The Team at Bump’n is working hard to raise awareness of this assistive device for folks with disabilities.  The product is on presale now, and supplies are limited, so as Chief Disability Officer Andrew Gurza says, it’s currently first served, first cum.

Here are some ways OTs can justify ordering the device to help support the cause and get this device to the folks who need it (which might be you!):

  1. If you’re an OT educator, you could order the adaptive joystick as a teaching demo or for student labs and projects (this is why I purchased one).

  2. Do you work in a clinical setting and need teaching demonstrations for your clients to interact with the products you’re recommending?  Add this to your clinic demo’s list!

  3. Have a fine motor limitation, find self pleasure causes hand pain, curious about other ways to get off than what you’ve been doing?  Try the device out for yourself and write a testimonial!

  4. Want to support an innovative team of people committed to creating life-changing products, services, and content? Purchase a Bump’n or "fund an orgasm" by making a donation! Your donation goes directly towards the purchase of Joysticks for those who need a… helping hand.
