Elevate your practice with our sex-focused Lecture Series, led by seasoned Sexuality OT Leaders. The Graduate Community provides ongoing education, advanced therapeutic strategies, and connection with an international community of OT trailblazers to help you stay at the forefront of sexuality and occupational therapy.

Once you enroll in the Certified Sexuality OT (CSOT), you get immediate access to the Graduate Community and continued access year to year through CSOT renewal every July.

Completing the Certified Sexuality OT (CSOT) courses is your gateway to the Graduate Community and mastering the integration of sex into your client care. This certification empowers OTs to push boundaries and provide truly holistic care, ensuring you stay at the forefront of your field.

For currently enrolled or certified CSOTs, remember to maintain your credentials and access to the Graduate Community by renewing your certification each July. Keep your practice vibrant and your knowledge up-to-date!

  • Checkout our incredible line up of speakers and topics. The Graduate Community Lecture Series establish new norms for OT education on sexuality and relationships for our OT clients.

  • Kathryn receives an email once a week from people looking for an OT in their state who can address sex with them and three times a week from OT/OTAs looking for community. Get yourself listed on this directory to connect with other CSOTs and patients.

  • Share ideas, build collaboration connections, and experience how much fun CSOTs have when we get together. Virtual networking sessions immediately follow each Lecture Series.

    In person networking events are coordinated by ISOT. If you’re interested in organizing a meet up in your area, let us know and we will tell this community.

  • Kinkclusive Practice

    Identities, Places, and Community Spaces

    This lecture equips participants with foundational knowledge essential for kink-competent OT practice in the various scenarios kink can be relevant for an OT. It covers terminology, standards, space dynamics, and risk management, with clinical interventions and bias mitigation strategies woven throughout. Participants will get to learn through doing by practicing basic kink techniques on themselves.

  • Promoting Occupational Equity

    and Justice by Addressing Sexuality & Intimacy Among Youth with Disabilities

    Consent is more than just yes and no which can make it tricky for an OT to navigate. Understanding consent and promoting conversations with clinical teams about consent are crucial components of providing comprehensive and holistic care to clients. of Desire & Arousal as Occupation

This lecture will discuss desire and arousal from an OT lens, including discussion about patters, roles, rituals, and activity demands. Come ready to learn using yourself for experiential learning. Most of us are the only OT/A at our setting who are advocating for sexual health programing. It can feel really isolating. In this session, participans will learn foundational program development components and strategies. Strategies and support will be applicable across settings anywhere OT/OTAs are justifying, starting, or growing sexual health programings. Come prepared with your idea and at the end of the session, you'll have ideas on next steps and likely some fellow collaborators

  • Gender Euphoria

    and Queer Joy: Gender Affirming Care for OTs

    The LGBTQIA+ community includes transgender & gender expansive individuals whose diverse experiences may require unique considerations when addressing engagement in daily occupations. Occupational therapy practitioners must understand how to navigate the diverse needs of their LGBTQIA+ clients. During this lecture, learners will establish a foundational understanding of common LGBTQIA+ terminology, gender affirming care, OTs role in gender affirming care, and considerations for practice regarding implementing gender affirming care.

  • Maximizing Participation

    in Sex and Intimacy After Spinal Cord Injury

  • Pornography

    What OTs Need to Know for Clinical Practice

    Let's break the silence around porn viewing as an occupation. OTs will learn about sexually explicit media (i.e., pornography). Why do people look at sexually explicit media? Is any pornography made ethically? Is pornography addictive? What is the impact of pornography on youth, mental health, sexual functioning, and relationships? These questions--and more--will be addressed.

The Graduate sessions are lectures that happen 8 times a year, featuring talks led by leaders and experts in OT, sexuality, and intimacy.

  • The Graduate Community Lectures Series are webinars that happen 8 times a year, featuring talks led by leaders and experts in OT, sexuality, and intimacy. These lectures provide advanced education, practical strategies, and a supportive community to help you stay at the forefront of sexuality and occupational therapy.

  • The Graduate Community Lecture Series are available to attend by any person that enrolls into CSOT / renews their certification each July.

  • Yes, recordings of past webinars are available for the Graduate Community to view. This allows you to catch up on any lecture you may have missed or revisit topics for further learning. Some lectures are available for 7 days only, while some are available evergreen.

  • The Graduate Community Lecture Series cover inclusive sexual practices, desire and arousal as occupations, ethical consent, sexual equity for disabled youth, program development, gender-affirming care, post-spinal cord injury intimacy, and the role of pornography in occupational therapy.

  • Once you are enrolled in the Certified Sexuality OT or renew your credentials you will receive information on how to register for upcoming webinars. Registration details are typically sent via email and available on on your member portal.

  • NO! Immediate access to the Graduate Community is a perk included in your initial CSOT enrollment and ongoing CSOT renewal each July.

  • At this time, the Graduate Community Lectures are not offered for CEUs and attendance is not required for the annual July renewal. CEU approval for Graduate Lecture Series and continuing education requirements for CSOT renewal will likely occur in 2027.
